Cliff and Nicole were pretty sure they were heading to the Big Brother 21 Final 3 after the Final Power of Veto competition, but Jackson has other plans. And those are plans that shouldn’t shock anyone. Wednesday night’s episode picked up right after the nomination ceremony where Nicole put Holly and Jackson on the block. Holly is still regretting throwing the HOH to Nicole, and Cliff and Nicole are still being a little delusional thinking Jackson and Holly won’t try to win the upcoming veto competition. Cliff even asks Holly that if they “gave her permission” to play veto, would she take Cliff to Final 3. Holly is rightly shocked by such a question. And to further the “WTF” Cliff tells Jackson that he’s not taking him to Final 2 over Nicole but still wants Jackson to take him to Final 2. I’ve never seen anything like this in Big Brother. Why would Cliff think Jackson would pick him over his showmance? Jackson lets Holly know what Cliff said and Holly lets Jackson know what Cliff said. Jackson says he loves Cliff, but they did them dirty, so there are no more deals. If Jackson wins the veto, Cliff goes home, Jackson says. It’s time for a Big Brother luxury competition (aka this season are so boring, they have to fill some time with a competition. The final four has to figure out how many things in the house have been changed while they were on HOH lockdown. The person who guesses correctly wins $10,000. One of the changes was Ovi was back in the house. That’s funny. Jackson locks his answer in first. He guesses 17 things were different. Nicole is second and she guesses 16. Holly and Cliff also guessed 17. So that means it’s down to Jackson and Nicole. The answer is 18, so that means Jackson wins the competition and the $10,000 prize. Let’s get to the final Power of Veto competition! For this veto competition, they will have to uncover a statement and then knock down the pictures of HGs who don’t match the statement. The person who completes the challenge the fastest wins the Power of Veto. The veto competition times Cliff: 38:36 Holly: 17:30 Nicole: 14:17 Jackson: 11:29 Jackson won the final Power of Veto! And Cliff still thinks he and Nicole are both going to be Final 3 with Jackson. Ciff really thinks Jackson is going to keep his word. Nicole has her doubts. Jackson lets us know that he and Holly are going to finale night. Jackson tells her that he will never turn his back on her. So that means Cliff is toast. I miss you and I hope you have a good day. I can't wait until you come back home, and to do all the things we do. You are a good daddy. I love you to infinity and beyond, love you BIG. P.S. you are my best friend, nothing can ever spread us apart everyone claps .. It was a brutal competition that combined speed, strength, a hint of balance and a keen memory of how things played out in the season. Azah and Derek F had to physically roll giant slot machine wheels to line up the four faces of Houseguests that make up the answer of three different questions. They had to get it right and get it first, with the fastest correct time taking home that victory. Azah took these as mountain climbers, but she was both winded and shining with a new coat of sweat after the brutal physicality of it. Big D opted instead to crawl his way through the competition, which appeared to shred his knees by the time it was done. He was complaining about the pain as it was going, but powered through as fast as he could. Alas for Big D, it wasn't quite fast enough, as Azah took Part 2. Bravo Erika Jayne Says She Has 'Zero Dollars' on RHOBH, Costars Keep Bringing Up Tom's Alleged Victims View Story Big D Loses His Damned Mind We've seen Big D lose it after every competition loss, and this loss cemented his status as someone who made it to finale night without a single competition win under his belt. In its own way, it's kind of impressive. At the same time, after a stellar social game all season, he absolutely botched these final few days. He already had a Final 2 deal solidified with Xavier, and Azah had made it clear that despite that, she was still planning to take her BFF in the House to the end if she won Part 3. All he had to do was sit back and keep everyone laughing. He basically had his spot in the finale all sown up. But then his paranoia started creeping in, and he couldn't keep his mouth shut. Watching Xavier and Azah snuggle -- which they've been doing all season -- became too much for him and he started freaking out on Azah about whether or not she would take him to the end. He also started "reminding" her that he carried her throughout the game. Now, he did his part to protect her, more early in the game, as a member of the Jokers, but The Cookout protected her as it did all its members, and they all worked to protect one another. Also, even if it were totally true, you don't say that! Derek F did argue that he'd played an honest game, and we suppose this was more than that. But you know what his honesty did for him here. It convinced Azah by the end of that week that she would rather sit next to Xavier and lose than have a shot at winning next to Derek F. RHOC Alum Vicki Gunvalson Confirms Split From Fiancé Steve Lodge: 'Rumors Are True' View Story Final Head of Household, Part 3 Suddenly, it looked like Xavier was sitting pretty no matter what happened in this final round, whereas Azah needed to win for any shot at sitting in the Final 2. It also seemed there was no way she could win against Xavier, but she didn't seem to care. As with every season, this round featured silly fake Jury scenarios with elaborate true/false questions about how each of them fared throughout the season. It's a brutal competition of memory, but this season it wasn't played on giant scales of justice. Instead, it was played straight. And straight away, Azah found herself in the hole when she missed the first of eight games. From there, round by round, it was perfection from both of them. An impressive run for anyone, Xavier pulled out final victory with perfection across all eight rounds. Azah went 7 for 8, but was playing catchup for the entire game, and just couldn't catch up. You could see it on her face that she knew exactly how this final eviction was going to play out. She kept it classy with her "save-me" speech, accepting her fate and leaving Xavier and Derek F to face the jury. Instagram Khloe Kardashian Says Her Hair 'Fell Out' Amid Covid Battle View Story The Winner of 'Big Brother 23' Earlier in the night, we saw the Jury deliberating over which of the Final 3 was most deserving of winning. They debated the pros and cons of everyone's game, but the result seemed as inevitable tonight as it has since Tiffany was voted out of this game. While there's a lot to be said for Azah and Derek F making it to the final with very few competition wins (or in the case of Big D, zero wins). But it's really, really hard to sit next to someone who did have those wins because it made them more overtly active in the strategies of the game. A bitter Jury might have leaned toward Big D, who kept everyone laughing all summer long, but this was a Jury that respected the game, respected this season's place in history and felt that they had to honor all of that with the most worthy winner ... Xavier. It's hard to argue that he didn't play the best game. He managed to lie and manipulate his way to the end, but he also never lost sight of The Cookout's mission from the beginning. He also very smartly positioned others to do most of the dirty work this season, leaving his hands clean. He didn't seem to have any real beef with anyone, except for when Kyland left and things got uncomfortably personal between the two alpha males, and instead had everyone's respect. It's even impressive that the House had basically been saying for weeks and weeks that if no one takes a shot at Xavier, he's going to win the game -- and then no one took a shot at Xavier. He's a deserving winner, as he definitely played a great game, and a stronger game than everyone in the Final 5. We'll stand here all day and say that Tiffany played a better game than Xavier, even as she was erratic at times, and not just because of the Master Plan (side duos). She controlled almost everything that happened from the very beginning and almost no one knew it. We're still hopeful that "Big Brother" considers returning Houseguests over the next few years and that Tiffany is willing to come back. Honestly, we'd be happy with a few of these Houseguests returning in a non-Cookout season to see how they'd fare without that mission shifting everything. Our picks to return would include Tiffany, Derek F, Claire, Sarah Beth, Hannah, Christian, Derek X and maybe Britini. All were memorable and smart players who would have probably done things very different had there not been this goal of establishing the first Black winner. TLC Whitney Way Thore Defends Herself Amid Vile Backlash Over Firing Longtime Friend Ashley View Story America's Favorite Houseguest We made our prediction on this one, suspecting that Derek F's charismatic persona would catapult him to victory as America's Favorite Houseguest, beating out Derek X and Xavier in the final vote. We happily got this one wrong. Perhaps we underestimated how much his saltiness in recent weeks impacted America's vote. We got Derek X right, and rightfully so, but we were extremely happy that neither of the Top 2 in the season landed in the Top 2 with America. Instead, it was Tiffany who got America's love, which just proves that America loved her as much as we did this season. See why "BB" should bring her back? In fact, bring her and Derek X back -- you now know how much we love them. In the final vote, which Julie Chen said was very close, Tiffany and her Master Plan took home the doubled $50,000 prize. She was probably deserving of winning the whole season, and without The Cookout mission she might have done it, but this isn't a bad consolation prize. Are these Houseguests "celebrities" now? They're reality TV famous, and you can bet some of the Houseguests that join in in the new season of "Celebrity Big Brother" will be from reality TV, too. Either way, "CBB" returns this February with Season 24 of "BB" coming back next summer. Here's everything to know about the former Big Brother winner. Josh Martinez is back for another shot at victory on season 37 of MTV's The Challenge: Spies, Lies, & Allies. Despite never being crowned a winner, Josh has remained a standout on the show due to his devotion to the game, emotional rants, and in-house quarrels.
Julie Chen Moonves hosted the Big Brother 23 season finale. Pic credit: CBS The “live” two-hour season finale of Big Brother 23 finally arrived on Wednesday night. At the beginning of the episode, just Azah Awasum, Derek Frazier, and Xavier Prather were still alive in the game. A long recap was shown going back to when Tiffany Mitchell and Hannah Chaddha were evicted, and then Kyland Young was shown getting evicted shortly after that. We also saw Xavier win Part 1 of the final HOH Competition to secure his spot in Part 3 on finale night. Big Brother 23, Episode 37 recap The first bit of new footage was Azah and Derek F battling in Part 2 of the final HOH Competition. The winner would advance to play against Xavier in Part 3. Azah seemed to have fun in the challenge, while Derek was pretty frustrated and said that it really messed up his knees. Azah finished with the best time and won Part 2 of the final HOH Competition. Get our Big Brother newsletter! Part 3 would now be Azah vs Xavier to decide the final Head of Household for the summer. Derek drama toward Azah A long segment was shown where Derek was expressing his frustrations in the house about Azah winning Part 2. We also saw some more chats from last week, where Derek was talking badly about Azah and saying that he carried her for most of the season. She wasn’t keen on hearing any of that. He also continued to say that he had a final two deal with Xavier. It was not a good way to get Azah to take him to the end if she won Part 3. Big Brother 23 jury roundtable The first seven members of the BB23 jury were shown all dressed up at the roundtable (they looked good). They started out discussing who might be coming in as the eighth member of the jury. They did not guess it was going to be Kyland Young. Kyland walked in and let them know that it was Derek Frazier who got him out of the game. And then it was time for the BB23 jury to talk about the final three houseguests and what they did in the game this summer. At one point Kyland said that Hannah and Derek were interchangeable in the game when it came to contributions. It was an odd statement to make and Hannah was not pleased. As a whole, the BB23 jury was impressed by what Xavier had accomplished and not at all impressed by Azah and Derek F being in the final three. Some compliments were given to Derek for surviving this long without winning anything, and to Azah for developing relationships. Tiffany Mitchell tried to stand up for Azah, but Azah’s lack of a resume didn’t help her much. Part 3 of the final HOH Competition Xavier and Azah had to answer questions based on short videos about houseguests who were now on the BB23 jury. The person who got the most points after eight videos would become the final Head of Household for the season. Xavier got every question right and became the final HOH of the summer. Who makes the final two of BB23? It was all up to Xavier who would go to the final two with him. Derek F and Azah both gave speeches about why they should go to the end before he made his choice. Xavier told Big D he was sticking to their final two deal and taking him to the end. It meant Azah became the final member of the BB23 jury. Azah met briefly with Julie, where she was pretty subdued. Azah told Julie that she was going to take Xavier to the end with her had she been the final HOH, and that she was still proud of the way she played the game. It also sounded like she had already decided she was voting for Xavier to win. BB23 jury takes the stage The first eight BB23 jurors were joined by Azah out on the main stage with Julie. They talked a little, but then it was time to ask Xavier and Derek F questions about the Summer 2021 season. Xavier remained pretty on-point and well-rehearsed with his answers. Derek did not do the same and struggled to answer some questions while also getting emotional at times. Time to vote for the Big Brother 23 winner After Xavier and Derek F gave speeches about why they each felt that they deserved to win, it was time for the BB23 jury members to place their votes. They each made a few comments as they put their key in the block. The first five evicted houseguests return through video chat Whitney Williams, Brandon “Frenchie” French, Christian Birkenberger, Travis Long, and Brent Champagne were all on hand to speak through video chat on finale night. Christian called The Cookout the best alliance in the history of the show. Brent took the time to give Tiffany a lot of credit for the season. Secrets revealed by BB23 cast The houseguests all told each other their real professions and backgrounds, including Xavier admitting to being a lawyer. Derek admitted to being the son of Joe Frazier and Britini also told everyone that she has autism. The Big Brother 23 winner is revealed Britini voted for Xavier, Derek X voted for Xavier, Sarah Beth voted for Xavier, Claire voted for Xavier, and Alyssa voted for Xavier. Five votes were already enough and Xavier Prather was named the Big Brother 23 winner by host Julie Chen Moonves. The rest of the votes later revealed that Xavier was the unanimous winner of the Summer 2021 season. America’s Favorite Houseguest The top two vote-getters in the race for AFH were Derek Xiao and Tiffany Mitchell. It was Tiffany who got named America’s Favorite Houseguest and won the $50,000 that came with it. More Big Brother to come On the way out, Julie Chen told Big Brother fans to apply to be on the show next summer. She also reminded everyone that Big Brother: Celebrity Edition is back on CBS this winter. Celebrity Big Brother returns to CBS in Winter 2022.
